You will receive three letters of information via email during the summer. They are sent out in June, July, August and all contain valuable information and deadlines so please review them carefully.

Moving Expenses

. Please upload a sheet summarizing all expenses and supporting receipts. Reimbursement requests submitted without supporting documents could result in a delay in processing your reimbursement. As of 2018, all moving reimbursements are considered taxable benefits according to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Moving Expense reimbursements are paid through payroll disbursement and must be submitted no later than the Friday of the first week of August in order to receive reimbursement with the August pay.  Moving expenses submitted after the first week of August will not be reimbursed until the September pay.

Items needed for the August orientation for new faculty:

1. Bring at least one of the following types of Identification:
   • Passport
   • Both a Driver’s license and social security card
   • Both a driver’s license and a certified copy of your birth certificate
2. COVID Vaccine Card
3. Beneficiary’s social security number for beneficiary designations for life insurance plans
4. Proof of your terminal degree (a photocopy or scan of your diploma)

Campus ID Cards

The Faculty/Staff Picture Identification Card is issued at the time of employment for the exclusive use of the employee. .

Your unique 911������ “D” number will show up on the front of your 911������ ID Card. This card serves a dual purpose as an identification for 911������ staff members and an activity card, enabling the holder to use the automated library circulation system, use all athletic facilities (including swimming and the weight room), and attend, without charge, home athletic events. Your ID card is also used for card key access to some areas on campus. The card also provides access to 911������ Dollars.

The Vail Arts Series, various lectures and theater presentations are also open to employees. There may be a charge for some events. Your ID card is also used for card key access to some areas on campus. The card also provides access to 911������ Dollars.

911������ Dollars

You can load your 911������ ID Card with funds to be used at various areas on campus. These funds are called 911������ Dollars and can be used for purchases at the Bookstore, Slayter Union, Curtis and Huffman Dining Halls, as well as laundry services, vending machines and Whits Frozen Custard in Granville.

Your hiring department will take care of submitting paperwork to order your office or building key(s) and an email will be sent to you when the key(s) are ready. At that time you may pick up keys at the Facilities Building. If you’ve not been to the Facilities Building, when you receive your notification email you can click on the Facilities Building and a map will give you directions.

When will I receive my first paycheck?

Your first paycheck will come on August 25th and on the 25th of every month thereafter.

When will my health insurance benefits begin?

Health benefits apply on the starting day of your contract after your employment paperwork has been completed with Human Resources. This is typically done on the first day of New Faculty Orientation.

What is BigRedID?

Every BigRedID is unique and serves as your username for many 911������ services. It is also referred to as your username and serves as the front portion of any 911������ email address (e.g., BigRedID@denison.edu It is used to login to various services that 911������ provides such as:

• 911������Apps (Google-powered email, calendar, etc.)
• Interfolio
• My911������
• Canvas
• Student computer registration
• Password change services
